Don't Sweat The Small Stuff

Have you ever read from any of these books? In the last year, I have had the chance to read one at work. And that was the title "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff (At Work). I was so impressed with the author's concepts that I checked out his website. I wondered if he might be a Christian. (I don't think he was.)

I think his ideas are really good though, and I would recommend it to any Christian. I think he takes spiritual principles (unbeknownst to him) and applies them to every day life. Sometimes we need things spelled out for us and he does just that.

Another little book that I like having around is "Life's Little Instruction Book"
There are probably many versions around, but I really like reading these. Sometimes I forget the simple things in life and how much better my life can be when I put these "little" things into practice.

Many of the ideas from both of these books incorporate the principle of "thinking about others more than ourselves" or being "others" centered or "random acts of kindness."

Do you sometimes find yourself so wrapped up in your own world that you forget or stop being considerate about other's lives. I do and I need constant reminders to reach out and touch others lives.

CURRENT EVENTS

I've started a new list called recommended articles. Society is changing day by day, moment by moment. One can hardly keep up. I came across the article today, The Transgender Moment. (See link at right) I like finding articles that present issues in a clear understandable way, give outstanding examples, present both sides of viewpoint - Christian and Worldview - and give some helpful advice for the Christian.

Depending on our circle of friends, coworkers, and extracurricular activities, including watching the news or reading the newspaper, we all have a certain amount of knowledge of things going on outside of our world. Some things may never touch us. On the other hand, we may all of a sudden have an opportunity to offer a Christian viewpoint on a very touchy subject, that perhaps we have not even considered, let alone have an opinion on.

However, in my personal opinion, I believe it is prudent for us to be more worldly wise in some circumstances. Concerning the Bible, we should know what we believe, but more importantly, why we believe it!

Just a real basic example. Can you defend your faith? Can you tell someone else how to be saved? Can you convince someone of being eternally secure in their salvation? Sometimes the simplest things can stump us.

And as far as current events and issues go, our first line of defense HAS to start with the Bible. We must put everything through the grid of the Scriptures.

GREAT IN 2008!!!

It's going to be great in 2008! How many times have you heard that? It's a neat little ditty! Do you believe it?

Every day is a new start and so is every year! Wasn't God good to create the universe so that we would always have new motivations to "start afresh". And we all need those times, don't we?

Never give up!!! NEVER!

Even when we are unfaithful, God is NOT! EVER!

Have you ever read the Bible through in a year - or ever? I hope that you will consider it. Here's a schedule you can try out. There are tons of them online.
