A friend of mine bought a book at the Chrisitan Bookstore. I don't even remember the exact name of the book. It was based on a verse of Scripture, I think from Judges, but I don't know for sure about that either. I knew I wasn't going to read the book, but I peeked through the pages to find the "3 Secrets."! So I'm going to tell you, too.
1. Start where you are
2. Use what you have
3. Do what you can.
Sounds pretty simple, doesn't it. I thought I could apply those principles without reading the book first!
Especially, since right now I am going through a new level of spiritual growth (it seems)
Do you ever get to a place in your spiritual life where it seems you haven't learned anything (even after 30+ years) and you seem to be back at ground zero! I have been there more often that I wanted to think and each time I find that I have forgotten that I have been here before! It is so discerting to wonder what the last 30 years were all about!
So what do you do?
I decided to start with the 3 secrets. I'm still working on Number ONe. Start where you are. Where am I? What are my issues? What are my sins? It's not very pretty. Would you be surprised that lying and stealing are on the list?
Oswald Chambers says in "My Utmost for His Highest" on Day August 23, "The reason God cannot come into my life is because I am not through into repentance." HMMMM!
More later.....
